Hello Louis. I’m a little confused by the question… you recently stumbled across this system, yet you’ve also been monitoring it for a year? And it’s been showing great results, yet you have a problem with a staking plan? Before I offer any suggestions, can I ask you what you think a staking plan is, and why you think you need one? Warm regards, Max Redd

sorry it was a badly worded question,i have been checking the results nearly every day for a year and there has always been winners (big and small priced)obviously there are losers between winners also it means putting 2bets per race.I just wondered if there was a well known staking plan that you know of that can help boost profits and protect your bank through the losers

Hello Louis. The best staking plan is level stakes. If a betting strategy doesn’t have an edge, no staking system will turn a loss-maker into profit. My advice would be to monitor the system until you have 100 winners, then analyze your results. This will give you an initial picture of any profitable edge. Simply use a betting bank that is large enough to cover the strike rate of your system. Periodically, as your bank grows, then increase your stake size accordingly. Read this article for more detail on recommended bank size. I hope you find it useful. http://reddracing.co.uk/help/how-big-is-big-enough/

Max, I’ve never really been a points man and really associated myself with better returns doing % of a bank. I think with a lot of guys in this field would like to see a service giving a monthly profit backing 1-2 horses a day than looking for your 5/1 nag coming in every 4th day. I lay a lot of short priced maidens, nov, and sprinters which prove to be beneficial to me.
I have known you for quite a few years and have always found you to be a genuine guy who is approachable and transparent.
Looking forward to flat season but my work takes me overseas now which is annoying.
Regards
Steve

Hello Steve, thanks for your comments. I guess the take away is that ultimately punters would be best advised to specialise, and adapt methods to suit their own betting temperament.
